I agree, that is hollywood for you to try to put in some dumbdowned humor. It is because they think the audience needs a "he he" moment.

Of all the species that Tolkien uses throughout his stories, which would of them would you like to be a part of?
I would, obviously, want to be a hobbit. They have the most fun of them all... elves are too stuffy and dwarves are too gruff. I'm already a human, so why pick something I already am? ^^

Thanks for your wonderful comments! I'm getting in the mood to do some more writing, and I've been contemplating what to do with this story for a while, so hopefully more will be coming soon! =)

Just a silly little poll. No rhyme or reason for it, I just want to know. Mine, personally, is The Hobbit.

The name 'Merry' is sort of weird. What do you call him when he is depressed, angry, tranquil, etc.?

Psychiatrists view of Bilbo

Bilbo (where he to sit on a couch and talk with a shrink) would be a very interesting study; terminating in these ideas about his personality: paranoia = he is constantly worried about the ring. addiction = can't leave the ring for one minute without having a panic attack. avoidance = he tries to ignore his problems by hosting huge parties, by raising Frodo, and by daydreaming about travels. Diagnoses: Bilbo needs to let go of the ring (which he does), allow Frodo to care for himself (which he does), and settle into a boring life style. (This is a psychiatrists' point of view and I do not hold all of these views myself!) What do you think?

Sam loves potatoes. Duh! Everyone knows that! Its no wonder that he is a chubby hobbit (although reasonable cute). I know that in the book, he mentions taters, but does the book ever mention anything about him being a chubby hobbit? I don't remember. I wonder what he would look like if he went on a diet? Handsome or too thin?

In your opinion, which character is cooler and for what reasons: Smeagol or Gollum? I personally find Smeagol intriguing because neither the book nor the movie really addresses him.

Smeagol is cooler. He looks basically like a norman human being and he probably doesn't have as much fishy breath! Imagine being married to him. Would you want to kiss Gollum - fishy breath, or Smeagol - possibly a light taste of fish (Maybe smoked fish with yummy seasoning or lemon.) Oh well, maybe you like sushi (I don't!) and find that bad fishy breath is exciting and awakens a passion within you. Anyway, that is my reasoning. Besides, I'd rather marry a guy who wears more than just a loin cloth!

That was weird! Don't worry, I do like some lame jokes and this one is creative. BTW, there was a spectial report today on the news. A man driving an suv reported that his vehicle was stuck in a terrible pot hole. The athorities could not understand why such a big vehicle like an suv would get stuck in a pot hole, so they came out to investigate. Turned out that the man had been wrong; he was not stuck in a pot hole but a hobbit hole! - O.k., that was very lame. In fact I do not know why I am posting it . . . Maybe you know why?

Pippin is protrayed as being a real idiot with no brains in the LOTR movies. That is wrong compared to the Pippin in Tolkien's books. It makes me mad. He is actually very smart. What do you think?

Okay, the object of this is to guess who said the quote someone posts. So, after you've guessed, you can put in your own quote and then someone will tell you whether you're right or wrong in their posts.

Oooo! I know, I know!! That has to be Merry!! I haven't read the books in forever so I went with any clues I could pick out within the quote.
Here's mine - "A very nice well-spoken gentlehobbit is Mr Bilbo, as I've said before."
(Hint: It's in the Fellowship in the first chapter. ^^)
